Rosetown Citizen of the Year
August 20, 2024

Rosetown will choose a Citizen of the Year for 2024!

The Lions Club and Central Plains Co-operative are reviving the annual celebration of citizenship!

Nomination forms are available now and people must contribute their choices, with details about their candidate’s qualifications by Sept. 30.
We’ll learn who a panel of judges select during the Harvest Family Festival pumpkin carving lunch at the Legion Hall on Friday, Oct. 11.

The Central Plains Co-op is beyond excited to play a role in reinvigorating the Rosetown citizen of the Year recognition program. Building a collaborative partnership with the Rosetown Lions Club aligns with our business values and creates opportunities to help and support each other for the betterment of our community.

The Program's History:
The Rosetown lodge of the Imperial Order of Odd Fellows began the program in 1978 and recognized worthy residents until 2001, when the Rosetown Chamber of Commerce took over. CJYM Radio stepped in to sponsor the program after the chamber stepped aside.
But station ownership consolidated its regional operations in Kindersley and 2019 marked the last celebration of leadership, honouring Sandra Lees, a Harvest Family Festival stalwart, as Citizen of the Year for 2018.

Make sure that someone you hold in high regard for his or her life of contributions isn’t overlooked. Find the form at the bottom of this page to fill it out. Seal and return the completed paperwork to the Central Plains Co-op Administration Office at 117 1st Ave E in Rosetown, or mail it to the office at Box 970, Rosetown, identified as a Rosetown Citizen of the Year nomination. You can also e-mail the form back to us at admin@centralplains.crs.
Be sure to list the achievements your candidate has helped produce, organizations they’ve served with and led, and any positions they’ve held with those clubs, associations, churches, schools or other organizations.

The winner or winners, to be selected by a special committee, receives prizes and a plaque, and their photograph will join the gallery of past Citizens of the Year at the Rosetown and District Museum.
